Enjoy an unforgettable evening of theater and drama as Bandon Playhouse presents “Radium Girls” by D.W. Gregory, directed by Stephanie Jones, on Feb. 23, 24 and 25; and March 1, 2 and 3, at the Sprague Theater, 1202 11th St. SW. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m., Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
Synopsis: In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court.
Tickets are $18 for adults 19 and older; students $12, 18 and younger. Saturday, Feb. 24 is “Pay What You Can.” Tickets are available at www.bandonplayhouse.org and at the door. To avoid Eventbrite and Square fees, pay by cash or check at the door. The box office opens an hour before curtain.
