The Shire of Tymberhavene is located in the Principality of the Summits and in the Kingdom of An Tir. We are the local chapter for the Society for Creative Anachronism centered around Coos and Curry Counties in Oregon. The SCA is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to re-creating aspects of life in medieval and renaissance Europe.
The monthly Shire business meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month (unless holidays or SCA events conflict), beginning at 6:30pm. They are currently hosted virtually through Zoom.
If you follow the Shire of Tymberhavene and/or the Shire of Tymberhavene Discussion Group on Facebook, a Facebook Event will be shared to each of those groups that will include an actionable button-link for the Zoom meeting. Garb is not required, but if you’d like to dress up, please feel free! Our Shire area is vast, covering all of Coos and Curry Counties and we recognize the distance that would be needed to cover for everyone to meet in person.
Monthly business meetings generally discuss what we have been doing the previous months, per office (Exchequer for finances, Arts & Sciences, Chatelaine for newcomers, etc), our general state of existence, any previous or upcoming events or event bids, etc. It is the business behind the game we all enjoy so much. Business meetings are not required for membership or for participation in events, but are strongly encouraged for those who are seeking ways to get more involved in our Home By The Sea.
What is the SCA?
The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our “Known World” consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.
