Learn about Charleston’s working waterfront and the sustainable seafood the fishing fleet brings back to the dock.
Learn how seafood is harvested in Charleston and how to distinguish the different types of fishing vessels and gear. We might even meet a fisherman or two along the way!
What to expect:
Tour will last 60 – 90 minutes. Participants should expect to be walking or standing the entire tour. Total walking distance will be approximately 1/2 mile.
Tour will start at 10 am.
Each participant will receive a complimentary gift tote bag with informational resources and local seafood products.
Free, but register for a space here. Walk-ins will be accommodated first come, first served. If you have any questions or need disability accommodations, please email dock.tours@oregonstate.edu at least one week in advance of your tour.
Dress for the weather.
Comfortable, closed-toe shoes recommended.
Parking & Accessibility:
Charleston Marina has plenty of parking adjacent to the commercial docks on Kingfisher Road. We will meet in the courtyard outside the Charleston Marina office.
