The summer youth crew assists with Coos Watershed Association’s ecologic restoration projects, such as removing invasive plants, building fences, collecting seeds, and managing our native plant nursery. Crew members need to be between the ages of 16-24 by the start date of the position, June 15. Compensation is $17.03 an hour.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in working outside in the field of natural resources! While previous experience working outdoors can be helpful, this is not a requirement, and we strongly encourage people with no or little job experience to apply.

Employment Period: June 15 – August 20, 2026
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 am-5:30 pm (40 hrs)
Length of Program: 10 weeks, with the possibility of extension
Compensation: $17.03/hour
Essential Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to):
Assist with CoosWA’s ecological restoration projects
Maintenance of tree plantings (mowing and weed whacking)
Invasive plant removal
Fence construction
Position Requirements:
Ability to work long days (usually 10 hours) in all types of weather (sun, wind, rain, heat)
Strong incentive to learn how to safely operate equipment (weed whacker, DR mower, hand tools)
Ability to consistently follow all safety guidelines
Positive attitude and comfortable working on a team
Good communication skills or interest in learning/improving communication skills
Ability to walk and operate equipment on uneven and unpredictable terrain
Ability to represent the organization professionally at all times
Open mind and desire to learn new skills!
