Register by Oct. 2 for “Craft, Authenticity, and Audience” — A Four-Week Acting Workshop at the Liberty Theatre Begins

Have you been bit by the theatre bug? Have you dreamed of acting on stage, but have never done it? Have you acted in the past, but want a brush up? Are you wanting to “level up” your acting abilities? “Craft, Authenticity, & Audience” is an all-new acting workshop at The Liberty Theatre in North Bend that will help you achieve those goals.

Acting is one of the most consummate forms of emotional expression, imagination, and self-discovery – but it’s much more than reciting lines or mimicking emotions. That’s where this workshop steps in. In four relaxed, non-judgmental sessions, participants will learn or refresh the core fundamentals of acting, including: Creating a multi-dimensional character, active listening, body language and facial expression, and voice control. Ages 13 to 100 are welcome to attend.

This workshop is led by local actress and director Lisa Terranova. “I grew up in central New York state with lots of relatives near New York City,” Terranova says. “Early on, I was exposed to the wonderful live theatre in the city and was ‘bit by the theatre bug.’”  She began acting lessons at age 12 with Salt City Center for the Performing Arts in Syracuse, NY and became part of their youth repertory company. She continued to study acting at St. Bonaventure University and has performed in dozens of community theatre productions off-and-on throughout the years, including a few seasons with the Central Coast Shakespeare Festival in San Luis Obispo, CA.  Most recently she directed Steel Magnolias at The Liberty Theatre.

“I think participants will come away from this workshop with improved stage presence, enhanced self-confidence, and tools for greater satisfaction and depth as an actor,” Terranova says.

“Craft, Authenticity, & Audience” will be held at The Liberty Theatre (2100 Sherman Ave, North Bend) October 3, 10, 17, & 24, 2026 from 11am – 1pm.
