The Coos Watershed Association and City of Coos Bay are offering a third year of summer watershed movies, with a venue change: this summer, movies will be at the Mingus Park amphitheater (725 N 10th St, Coos Bay). There will be two movies, The Extraordinary Caterpillar on August 14 from 8-10 PM and Hoppers on August 28 from 7:30-9:45 PM. Each event will begin with a short presentation on a theme related to the movie: caterpillars, pollinators, and plants on August 14 with CoosWA staff, and wetlands, keystone species, and the balance between people and nature with Kristopher Murphy from the Coquille Indian Tribe on August 28.
Both events are free and family-friendly. Organizers and sponsors will provide pizza and popcorn (while supplies last). Participants are encouraged to bring snacks/a picnic, something comfy to sit on, and layers to keep warm after dark.
